Welcome to La Maison du Tilleul Argente
We are a small chambre d’hote in the village of
Courcôme, near Ruffec in the Charente. The house
is situated in the centre of the village with the
silver lime tree that it is named after right outside.
Nearby is the local church which dates from the
10th Century, and the ancient chapel of St Antoine
which has an even longer history. There are many
and varied places to visit in our area, click here
to find out the local attractions.
The house has been restored from a former bar (there is still another in the village, which also has a restaurant),
and it has had a varied history since it was originally built in 1850. Sadly we don’t have
the licence to serve alcohol, but the warm welcome, the comfortable beds and the ambiance will
hopefully more than make up for that.

We can also point you in the direction of the local vineyard

Our doors opened during Easter 2007. The house has
3 letting bedrooms (all double with en suites) with
a family room which has been newly finished. Breakfast
is served in the dining room, with fresh bread,
croissants and other produce from local suppliers and if they are feeling co-operative fresh free range eggs from our own chickens.
It is possible to sit outside the front of the house
in the warmer months (it does get a little chilly
during the winter) to have breakfast, coffee or
just to watch the world go by or relax in the sheltered
and sunny private courtyard behind. |
We
have easy parking at the front of the house and secure
parking for motorcycles or bikes if required. |
